The West Interlake Trading Company Inc. (WITC) is a non-profit organization run by volunteers with the vision to promote tourism in the southwestern region of the Interlake.
Located just twenty minutes north of Winnipeg on Highway #6 in Warren, the WITC operates as a gateway to the West Interlake from Winnipeg and offers a variety of opportunities for local residents looking to promote themselves to outside markets. At the same time, the WITC also functions to bring opportunities with outside organizations directly to the local community through their network of contacts.
The WITC offers support and initiative to the preservation and promotion of the area’s local history and the community spirit, for which such small, rural towns are known. While exploring the RM of Woodlands, be sure to check out the WITC’s elevator site and marvel at the silent giant that keeps watch over the small prairie town. If you are really impressed with site, the WITC also offers the space for wedding rentals, family reunions, public gathering and community events of all shapes and sizes, so keep them in mind when planning your next big event!
The WITC is also the “Crafter’s Connection” to the area, hosting an annual craft sale on the first weekend of November. If crafting isn’t your thing, you can always enjoy some of the other classic community staples provided by the WITC, like pancake breakfasts, fundraising socials, and a variety of holiday-themed opportunities to get out of your house and catch up with your neighbours!
