Who are we? The West Interlake Trading Company Inc. (WITC) is a non-profit organization run by volunteers with the vision to promote tourism, related business, and services in the southwestern region of the Interlake. The WITC works in partnership with the Warren & District Lions Club to provide guest services to people arriving in Warren via the Prairie Dog Central Vintage Passenger Train. On site services include a Country Market, live entertainment and tours of the wooden grain elevator. Located just twenty minutes north of Winnipeg on Highway 6 in Warren, the market offers hand crafted goods, woodworking, baking, seasonal vegetables, toys, t-shirts, soaps, quilts, and much much more. Local residents and business people have the unique opportunity of welcoming the arrival of more than twelve thousand visitors from North America, indeed from all over the world, every summer from May to September. The siren call of our small-town hospitality and friendly people has lured many city dwellers to move to our fair town.
We offer you... The Country Market is run in conjunction with the weekend excursions of the Prairie Dog Central. Vendors are able to rent a table, located inside our structure out of the elements, either on a seasonal, part seasonal, or on a daily basis. Or set up your own table outdoors for a nominal daily fee. The Warren District Lions Club offers hot dogs, smokies, beverages, and ice cream from their booths. Electrical hook-ups are available, as well as washroom conveniences. Vendor application and additional information is available by calling Faye Mason at 204-322-5109. Customized Group Tours! The West Interlake Trading Company is able to develop a tour package tailored to your group's specific needs and interests. This could include tours to local landmarks such the Woodlands Pioneer Museum, V. Gross Doll Museum, the award winning Oak Hammock Marsh Interpretive Center, Pioneer Quest Cabin tour, a day at the beach, or Lower Fort Garry. The Interlake Pioneer Trail tempts those interested in ecotourism. Play a round of golf at locations such as the South Interlake Golf and Country Club, and dine at a number of venues. We can cater to any event! There's nothing like a down home pig roast. Combine any of the above with a train ride on the Prairie Dog Central vintage train. Want to do something special for a birthday party or family reunion? The WITC will arrange to reserve a table(s) under a shade structure for your group, as well as refreshments, decorations, etc...
The WITC's tourism information center offers free brochures showcasing items of interests and events in the Interlake. Our friendly Tourism Coordinator will be on hand to answer your questions.
